Artist's Description

Continuing with my crushed cans, this is my Crushed Silver Light Beer Can on BW Plywood 80, and is part of a much larger series. Once I started this series, I began noticing these cans on the road just about everywhere I went. It got to the point that I had to force myself to quit stopping to pick them up because I was getting obsessed. How many crushed cans do I really need? We may never know.

I wanted my Crushed Can Series to be a bit different, so I photographed the cans on my favorite plywood background. I've had this piece of plywood for several decades, but I'll save that story for another day.

The lighting of this can is very specific, and really brings out a lot of detail. There's a bit of distortion happening in the can itself, but that's to be expected. You can't pick up a can off the road that has been run over countless times and not have distortion! -YoPedro
