This is an old Porter-Cable Heavy Duty drill motor (I kid you not!) that has seen better days. It belonged to my grandfather, who was a building contractor for most of his life.
This is another piece in my Tools series. The series itself is about the implements we have and hold in our everyday lives, the unseen products that sit on shelves or buried in toolboxes and drawers. Some are forgotten and rediscovered years later, some are broken yet we never take the time to repair them because for the most part, it's easier to just buy a new one. I'm just as guilt as the next to do this very thing, to replace it rather than repair.
But the tools are there, and I am enamored with their hidden beauty. I knew my grandfather well, and to be able to say that I still have and use his tools caries some weight with me. To see them as works of art, well, that's a whole other story. -YoPedro
My latest images here on FAA/PIX are primarily A.I. based with a dose of manipulation tossed in. The images are not photographs, the people are not real nor are any of the stories attached to the images. It's all a craftsman's manufactured world of images and tales, of people I have never met, places I have never been, and things I have never seen or done. It's all an illusion, what I like to call 'Pixel Farming'.
